Election Day and the future…

Maybe Tracy Morgan said it best when he stated, “Black is the new president, bitch!”

It’s election day and today Barack Obama will be voted into office. He will be the first black president (period).

Despite whatever polls the media squawked about in a lame (but effective) attempt to instill some sort of fear, the truth will shine through. John McCain, a candidate plagued with a significant amount of poor media coverage, amongst other things, could never win against an opponent with a huge positive media presence like Barack. The fact that Barack is a very charismatic, well spoken candidate compared to McCain, was just as significant. We could go on talking about their differences, but it’s irrelevant at this point.

We never believed in the polls here. We knew from day one… well maybe day three… Barack would win. It was inevitable. In fact, we were so confident we said it in July.

Although we expected Barack to win, we don’t expect much else moving forward. As we have stated in the past, we expect Barack to maintain the status quo or worsen it. We also expect he will wrongly blamed for the coming economic chaos that awaits us all in 2009 and 2010. There have been some reports alleging the economic hardships will be such that a Republican will take office again in 2012 and the US economy will represent a third world economy at that time. While we cannot confirm those statements, we cannot deny them. It is a possibility.

Until then… Congrats Barack. You won.

Big-up to Ron Paul and Nader… You guys fought the good fight.
